day to day poetry

Being an independant woman as i am i tend to ignore advice and dont do well if i am told just what it is i need to do or how it should be done! My fiance and i sometimes have issues because i am overly productive and when i start something i cant bring myself to leave until im finished. The worst part of it all is that my productivity and achievements dont reflect on me or my family because i do these things not for us but for other people who in the beginning i believe will have a lttle appreciation for my hard work but when its all said and done i dont usually even get a thanks.

Now i am learning alot more about people than i ever knew before and also realizing that people arent as caring,or appreciative and many are just full of selfishness and greed.

I can remember a few times growing up that we broke down on the freeway and not more than 3 minutes later atleast 3 people had stopped offering us a ride and help, now you can brake down on the freeway with kids in the car and not even the local police will stop to lend a hand. When my youngest was only 14 months old i was driving on the freeway and my tire blew out. I stood outside my car,wrote signs on my window and even stood outside the car with my baby and the first person to stop after being there for over an hour and 10 minutes was  a tow truck driver who stayed in his vehicle with his window rolled part way up and asked if i needed the phone then as soon as i hung up the phone he was outta there! What has happened to our society and the people in it?
